We completely understand that inviting someone into your home whilst you’re away requires a high level of trust. So when asking a cat sitter to look after for your cats in your home, a DBS check is essential.

At SOBO Cat Care we’re proud of our DBS checks and will automatically show them to our customers when we first meet them. We are able to share our DBS certificates with you either via the GOV.UK website so you can view them online or we can show you our printed certificates.

What is a DBS check?

DBS stands for Disclosure and Barring Service and is the official UK method for reviewing someone’s criminal record. When someone has undergone and passed a DBS check, it is a reassuring sign that they are reliable and have no criminal record, making them more likely to be a responsible and trustworthy individual.

A valid DBS check demonstrates professionalism and a commitment to our work. It shows that we take our responsibilities seriously and are willing to go through the necessary steps to build trust with our customers.

Why is a DBS check essential?

  • Home Security: The DBS check will let you know if a pet sitter has any criminal convictions or a history of offending.
  • Animal Welfare: Ensuring your cats are safe by protecting them against people convicted of animal cruelty.
  • Peace of Mind: Knowing that your cat sitter has no criminal history allows you to relax whilst you’re away, eliminating any potential anxiety.

Building trust and maintaining our reputation.

Building trust with our customers is a key part of our service. We want them to know they can rely on us, just as if they had asked a close friend or family member to look after their cats. Our DBS checks, public liability insurance, customer reviews and word of mouth recommendations all combine to provide a level of trust that we are proud to maintain.
